10 tips using Reddit in ABX and Demand Generation

For the last year, I’ve improved our AI GEO search capabilities through the combination of better content, more relevant content, different format content (video), and hiring a stellar agency (Primary Position, David Quaid).  Combined with my digital expert offshore team and through the work of Primary Position, we’ve guided a few clients around best practices on AI search, because it directly correlates with revenue performance.  You’ve seen me talk about our SEO results here, it’s been an 18 month close study.

A common new thought process is introducing Reddit to B2B. But how do you do that?

Based on our own search optimizing experience, David’s experience, and also attending a number of 2025 zoom calls on AI performance leveraging Reddit and other mechanisms, here are 10 Reddit strategies that can help with how to plan for Reddit in B2B:

  1. Own Your Brand Presence
  • Secure your brand’s subreddit and a Reddit username that matches your brand or primary representative. If you don’t, someone else might and getting it back is hard and slow. For brands, also create an official user (like u/yourbrand or u/name_representing_brand).
  1. Lurk, Listen, and Research Before You Leap
  • Take time to research and observe each target subreddit’s culture, top posts, language, and expectations before posting. Sort by “top/all-time” to discover what really resonates. (this is gonna require some headcount, so it may not scale – at first.)
  • Investigate what kinds of posts do well for your audience and adapt your voice to fit each community.
  1. Seed and Repurpose Content for Reddit
  • Take your best blog content, threads, videos, or even answers from other platforms, and rewrite or “remix” them for your target subreddit(s). Localize or niche your content to match the subreddit’s focus.
  • Use Reddit itself as a research engine; find the best questions and topics, then build original or improved angles.
  1. Focus on Bottom-of-Funnel Keywords and Queries
  • Reddit threads increasingly dominate Google and AI search results for B2B software and service reviews. Ensure your brand, solution, or product is present in relevant “reviews/experiences” threads—either through honest customer advocacy, or by guiding loyal users to post.
  1. Engage Authentically, Don’t Overtly Promote
  • Show up as your brand’s representative, but always add value and participate in conversations genuinely.
  • When possible, answer questions and share expertise, but avoid obvious self-promotion unless the rules and subreddit norms allow it.
  1. Encourage and Incentivize Customer Reviews on Reddit
  • Make Reddit an option alongside other review platforms for your customers (e.g., TrustRadius, G2, Capterra) especially after strong NPS feedback. Real-user-authored reviews on Reddit have exceptional SERP staying power and credibility.
  1. Use Paid Reddit Strategies (Remarketing & Ads)
  • Reddit’s ad platform is underused and currently offers lower-cost, better-targeted remarketing. For B2B, target users who visited your pricing/demo pages or are members of relevant subreddits.
  • Monitor your results and optimize to ensure you’re actually getting visibility and not just impressions.
  1. Track and Manage Brand Reputation
  • Set up alerts for your brand on Reddit and watch rankings for “brand + reviews.”
  • If negative threads rank high, counter by creating your own subreddit and loading it with positive, authentic stories and resources.
  1. Think in Terms of Discoverability (LLMs and SEO)
  • LLMs and Google AI results increasingly cite Reddit threads for product, service, and industry queries. Ensure your brand owns presence in these high-intent discussions to influence what future buyers and automated agents will “see.”
  1. Internal Alignment and Staffing
  • Your social media manager, PR, customer service, and even paid/SEO teams should all contribute to and align on your Reddit strategy, from community engagement to reputation management and performance tracking.

These strategies will help you establish durable organic visibility, shape perception in AI and search, and win trust in the Reddit-first, LLM-aware landscape of 2025.
